Bio

Diego works from plain air experiences to create paintings and drawings that question the way we understand landscape. Landscape in Transformation (2014) is based on how memory and oblivion are central in the construction of reality. This series started incorporating ice as a sublime element in the middle of Mexico City. Diego´s intrinsic attraction to frozen polar landscapes drove him to participate in three art residencies in Antarctica and Iceland. These experiences resulted in several series for a span of eight years, and an exhibition, Ineffable Visions (2015).

Narvaez won the first prize at the National Landscape Painting Biennial Luis Nishizawa (2017). He received the Young Creators Program Grant (2010, 2013, 2017) bestowed by the Ministry of Culture of Mexico. Collectively, and has participated in dozens of exhibitions in Argentina, Mexico, Canada and USA.
